The mission of the Young Professionals of Florence group is to mobilize the young professionals of Florence to support and enhance leadership, civic responsibility and business growth.

Simply put, we’re here for you. We hope that as this organization continues to grow, that it will be able to provide an increasing array of business and social services to all area young professionals looking for a network to help them reach out to the community.

2021 - 2022 Leadership Florence 8/1/2021 - 5/31/2022

Leadership Florence is a comprehensive nine-month program designed to identify, cultivate and motivate new leadership for the Greater Florence Area. Participants will increase their knowledge of the Greater Florence area, and enhance their involvement in community activities while further developing their leadership skills.

ATTENDANCE
The program begins with a Meet & Greet in August and ends with graduation in June 2022. Sessions are one full day per month.

You are also required to attend the half day Building Bridges Diversity Session, at least two law enforcement ride-alongs and one City/County Council Meeting. The Leadership Class will complete a class project during the program, in which the proceeds will be donated to chosen charities. Recent projects are Downtown Gala, Find Me Downtown , BBQ for a Cause & Disco Ball.

Participants may not miss more than two days of class to graduate. Attendance at all sessions is expected. The Opening Retreat, Team Building Exercise and State Government are mandatory sessions.

TUITION
$1295 for members and $1695 for non-members. A $325 deposit must accompany this completed application. The tuition balance is due before Friday, August 14, 2021. The Leadership Committee reserves the right to deny the participant eligibility for graduation for failure to attend scheduled sessions or non-payment of full tuition.

VentureSouth Angel Investor Network (https://venturesouth.vc/) is coming to inform prospective investors about the many benefits of joining the South’s most preeminent angel investor community. Investors will learn about the available SC tax credits for participation and what the risks and opportunities of participation are. The Pee Dee Region of SC is ripe with opportunity and this new Angel group will be a partnership that bridges Florence, Hartsville, and the Greater Pee Dee Region’s investors together with VentureSouth to help attract, grow, and retain startups in our region. Complimentary lunch will be provided. This event is being hosted by HillSouth IT Solutions and Venture South.

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9th. There will be three speakers at this year’s Fall Legislative Breakfast at Florence Center. Lethonia Barnes, Florence City Council At Large, Roger Kirby, SC House Representative—District 61 and Jay Jordan, SC House Representative—District 63 and Chairman, House Ethics Committee, will address the breakfast attendees. Individual tickets for the breakfast are available for $20 and special reserve tables of 8 for $180. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 7:45 a.m.
