The mission of the Young Professionals of Florence group is to mobilize the young professionals of Florence to support and enhance leadership, civic responsibility and business growth.

Simply put, we’re here for you. We hope that as this organization continues to grow, that it will be able to provide an increasing array of business and social services to all area young professionals looking for a network to help them reach out to the community.

Membership Fee: $40 per year - Membership Runs January - December 2022

Leadership Florence is a comprehensive nine-month program designed to identify, cultivate and motivate new leadership for the Greater Florence Area. Participants will increase their knowledge of the Greater Florence area, and enhance their involvement in community activities while further developing their leadership skills.

ATTENDANCE
The program begins with a Meet & Greet in August and ends with graduation in June 2023. Sessions are one full day per month.

You are also required to attend the half day Building Bridges Diversity Session and one City/County Council Meeting. The Leadership Class will complete a class project during the program, in which the proceeds will be donated to chosen charities. Recent projects are Downtown Gala, Find Me Downtown , Disco Ball and Kickball for a Cause.

Participants may not miss more than two days of class to graduate. Attendance at all sessions is expected. The Opening Retreat, Team Building Exercise and State Government are mandatory sessions.

TUITION
$1295 for members and $1695 for non-members. A $325 deposit must accompany this completed application. The tuition balance is due before Tueday, September 6, 2022. The Leadership Committee reserves the right to deny the participant eligibility for graduation for failure to attend scheduled sessions or non-payment of full tuition.

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2022 SC Chamber Grassroots Tour Luncheon on Wednesday, September 7 at the Darlington Raceway Media Center. Doors will open at 11:30am and the program will begin at 12 noon. Bob Morgan, President & CEO of the SC Chamber of Commerce, will be leading the program discussion and legislative review.

Each year, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce partners with regional chambers of commerce throughout South Carolina to present the SC Chamber’s Alliance Grassroots Tour to share a state legislative update for area businesses. The interactive luncheon offers the state and local chambers an opportunity to hear from local business and industries regarding state legislative issues and business concerns.

The feedback received from this program will help shape the State Chamber’s 2023 Competitiveness Agenda and set the Chamber’s priorities for the next legislative session in Columbia.

Map and directions to the Darlington Raceway’s infield Media Center are available when you register.

Seating for this special luncheon is very limited and will be closed-out very early. Please get your registration in ASAP. There is no charge for registration.

Florence County Economic Partnership CEO, C. Gregory “Gregg Robinson will be the keynote speaker at the Luncheon and will share what’s ahead for regional economic growth and development. Gregg is a South Carolina Certified Economic Developer. His 30-year career encompasses all areas of economic development, including global business recruitment, infrastructure development, marketing, research, and operations.

The Chamber Luncheon is open to Chamber members and all community leaders. It will be held at the Florence Center. Doors will open at 11:30 am and the program will begin at 12:00 noon.

The Business Person of the Year award will be presented at the close of the luncheon program. The Business Person of the Year is sponsored by Wells Fargo.

Tickets for this event are $30 for members, $40 for non-members and $450 for a reserved table of 8.
