2023 - 2024 Leadership Florence 8/1/2023 - 5/30/2024

Leadership Florence is a comprehensive nine-month program designed to identify, cultivate and motivate new leadership for the Greater Florence Area. Participants will increase their knowledge of the Greater Florence area, and enhance their involvement in community activities while further developing their leadership skills.

ATTENDANCE
The program begins with a Meet & Greet in August and ends with graduation in June 2024. Sessions are one full day per month.

You are also required to attend the half day Building Bridges Diversity Session and one City/County Council Meeting. The Leadership Class will complete a class project during the program, in which the proceeds will be donated to chosen charities. Recent projects are Downtown Gala, Find Me Downtown , Disco Ball and Kickball for a Cause.

Participants may not miss more than two days of class to graduate. Attendance at all sessions is expected. The Opening Retreat, Team Building Exercise and State Government are mandatory sessions.

TUITION
$1395 for members and $1795 for non-members. A $325 deposit must accompany this completed application. The tuition balance is due before Tueday, September 7, 2023. The Leadership Committee reserves the right to deny the participant eligibility for graduation for failure to attend scheduled sessions or non-payment of full tuition.

The mission of the Young Professionals of Florence group is to mobilize the young professionals of Florence to support and enhance leadership, civic responsibility and business growth.

Simply put, we’re here for you. We hope that as this organization continues to grow, that it will be able to provide an increasing array of business and social services to all area young professionals looking for a network to help them reach out to the community.

Membership Fee: $40 per year - Membership Runs January - December 2024

The keynote speaker for the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce annual Outlook Luncheon on Wednesday, March 20, will be Howard Coker, President, and CEO of Sonoco in Hartsville, SC. Mr. Coker’s role at Sonoco has global leadership, sales and operating responsibility for all of the Company’s diversified consumer, industrial and protective packaging businesses.

We expect to hear Mr. Coker talk about the growth of his company, product innovation and the general economic outlook here in South Carolina, along with some conversation about international business.

The program will include the announcement of the Small Business Person of the Year, which is sponsored by Dedicated Community Bank, and the Public Servant of the Year, which is sponsored by Francis Marion University.

The Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year will also be recognized.

The luncheon will be held at the Florence Center with doors opening at 11:30am and the program to begin at 12 noon. Individual registration is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Special reserved tables of 8 are available at $475.

Join the Greater Florence Chamber and the the City of Florence for a free breakfast, networking and business growth as part of a new partnership called Innovate Florence.

The event will take place on October 26th at 8:30 am at the City Center, located at 324 West Evans Street.

Innovate Florence is an exciting partnership where several local entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to speak about their business and challenges they face, and the community gives them feedback and support.

The goal is to break down barriers and form meaningful connections.
