Leadership Florence is a comprehensive nine-month program designed to identify, cultivate and motivate new leadership for the Greater Florence Area. Participants will increase their knowledge of the Greater Florence area, and enhance their involvement in community activities while further developing their leadership skills.

ATTENDANCE
The program begins with a Meet & Greet in August and ends with graduation in May 2025. Sessions are one full day per month.

You are also required to attend the half day Building Bridges Diversity Session and one City/County Council Meeting. The Leadership Class will complete a class project during the program, in which the proceeds will be donated to chosen charities. Recent projects are Downtown Gala, Find Me Downtown , Disco Ball and Kickball for a Cause.

Participants may not miss more than two days of class to graduate. Attendance at all sessions is expected. The Opening Retreat, Team Building Exercise and State Government are mandatory sessions.

TUITION
$1395 for members and $1795 for non-members. A $325 deposit must accompany this completed application. The tuition balance is due before Friday, September 6, 2024. The Leadership Committee reserves the right to deny the participant eligibility for graduation for failure to attend scheduled sessions or non-payment of full tuition.

The mission of the Young Professionals of Florence group is to mobilize the young professionals of Florence to support and enhance leadership, civic responsibility and business growth.

Simply put, we’re here for you. We hope that as this organization continues to grow, that it will be able to provide an increasing array of business and social services to all area young professionals looking for a network to help them reach out to the community.

Membership Fee: $40 per year - Membership Runs January - December 2025

The Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce has announced its’ guest speaker for the 2025 Business Outlook Luncheon to be held on Wednesday, March 19^th at Florence Center.

Alan Wilson, South Carolina’s Attorney General will be addressing the crowd of 500 business and community leaders. Wilson, has served in the National Guard for more than 28 years, including a combat tour in Iraq, achieving the rank of Colonel. In July 2024, he graduated from U.S. Army War College with a Master of Strategic Studies degree.

As Attorney General, he has focused on fighting human trafficking, with a report in 2019 ranking our state best in the nation for improving its human trafficking laws and last year’s report showing continued improvement in fighting that crime.

Wilson also secured the largest settlement in state history of more than half a billion dollars over the federal government’s refusal to remove nuclear waste from the Savannah River Site.

The Chamber's luncheon will include an announcement of the Small Business Person of the Year, which is sponsored by Dedicated Community Bank, and the Public Servant of the Year, which is sponsored by Francis Marion University.

The Chamber’s Ambassador of the Year will also be recognized.

The annual luncheon will again be held at the Florence Center with doors opening at 11:30am and the program beginning at 12 noon. Individual registration is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Special reserved tables of (8) are $475.

The 2025 Building Bridges Leadership and Diversity Summit is set for Monday, March 24 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. The event will be held at the Florence Center and will feature multiple breakout sessions. Lunch will be served during the program schedule.

The Building Bridges is a program offering comprehensive group experience in cultural diversity, inclusion and competence. This summit has been designed to help local business professionals appreciate and respect the uniqueness of their employees and peers.

This year's Building Bridges keynote speaker will be Julian Williams, Vice President, Office of Access and Opportunity at the University of South Carolina.

The full day cost of the program is $30 and includes lunch.
